Idiot Savant began in Isla Vista, CA in the summer of 1999. During their 7 year tour of duty this unique blend of funk, metal, jazz and rock was named “Best Santa Barbara Band” by the UCSB daily nexus three years in a row, and took first place in several band battles, including the Ernie Ball battle of the bands and the touring reality band competition show “Best Band on Campus”

Idiot’s universal appeal earned them shows with such rock legends as Motorhead and The Misfits, as well as slots on the Vans Warped tour and the So-Cal Extravaganza festival. This bands unique style and undisputed musical talent has been praised by a plethora of both professional and amateur musicians, along with its always increasing die hard fan base.
